Nunnie cooked this chicken fried steak for me and it was really good. This is beef steak about pounded until 1/4 inch thick, dipped in egg, coated with flour, and then deep fried. This is served with white gravy and best eaten with mashed potato and biscuits. Being a Filipina, I am never used to the beef being fried. I always like it to be saucy like caldereta, bistek, or anything like that, but not fried. So I was really surprised that this chicken fried steak that Nunnie cooked for me was really good. And the white gravy! I have never had a white gravy. It’s always brown gravy just like the one that can be bought at KFC. I am so glad that Nunnie made this for me. I like it. He made it using milk, but I am going to try it next time using heavy whip cream just to see how it’s going to turn out. I hope you try this chicken fried steak and give us a feedback. It may not be a Pinoy recipe but it is worth sharing that’s why I posted it. Kain tayo!
